An attempt to convey a few of the thoughts & feelings of an expatriate teacher in sunny Singapore (and adjacent spots on occasion.)

Hi sir, I'm doing an eng A1 ee on a play and I was wondering that if my research question discusses the play both textually and theatrically, would this inclusion of the 'dramatic elements/mechanism' or the theatrical side of my argument be valid for an eng ee? Or would it cross over into theatre arts? Thanks.
I'm not all that sure on this one, but I think it would be okay, assuming your treatment of the theatrical sticks to what is explicit in the text; e.g., dealing with stage directions, explicit pauses, and the like. Whatever would be reasonable to include in a World Lit essay on Ibsen or Strindberg would be suited to an Eng A1 EE.
Do discuss further with your supervisor concerning exactly what would be acceptable, or see me directly in school if you want more input from me on this. I'll ask around and see whether we've had this kind of essay before.
Thanks sir, and a belated merry christmas! Hope Manchester treated you well.
